Jesker, Part 2.

Jesker seemed to be moving around better this morning, except for the familiar limp in his front paw. He wasn't jumping up and down for joy, but he was walking around a bit, though he kept lying down as if he was very tired and he kept falling asleep. I decided to take him to the vet, because something was not right about him and on our short walk over there, he had diarrhea.

The vet took his temperature (Jesker had a fever) and listened to his lungs and heart and stomach and said that he had an infection that is going around and he gave him an antibiotic injection and gave me five days worth of antibiotics to give to him. He said it is possible that Jesker was so sick yesterday that he was unable to get up and walk. So, that may have been the whole problem.

We walked very slowly on the way home and he had diarrhea again. He obviously had a hard time walking that short distance and when we got home, he was worn out. He's been sleeping ever since. I've canceled my activities for today and will stay with him. I don't want to leave him on his own feeling this way. Every once in a while he comes to be petted, but it's too much work for him to sit up. He lies down and I pet him and he goes to sleep.

He should be going uphill from this point forward. I hope to only see improvement. The poor guy! He's such a trooper.

Ciao,
Nora

Oh gosh, poor Jesker! I the previous post and just read this now. Hope he gets better soon. If it's "just" a virus going around, hopefully it won't take long for him to show an improvement.

Just come back from the vet's with our cat, it seems to be the time for emergencies at the moment, eh?

Have a good day in with your pets and give Jesker and extra petting from me!

Hi Nora. I'm glad that Jesker doesn't have something more serious like a stroke - although he must be feeling very ill poor thing. Hopefully the medication will make him feel better very quickly.

Hope you are OK too during this stressful period.

Best wishes,
Bearfriend xx

I can understand how you are feeling my friend. I wouldn't leave him now either if he was mine.

Just think - when he starts feeling better how he will be barking at you once more for his food or waiting behind the door.

Poor Jester - Poor you. Many hugs.
