The big empty space that is the new year.

Happy new year every one. Are you not excited about the empty canvas that lies in front of us waiting to be painted on with all the possibilities of things that may happen to us in this coming year? I certainly am and, although the new year is only a symbolical number that modern man came up with, it does make me feel full of hope about what changes and opportunities lie ahead of me and all sorts of improvements in life that will come with it. Saying that I look forward to this new year would be an understatement.

Our daughter went to bed early, taking care to get over her cold, but my ex and I stayed up till midnight and watched the fireworks go off on Time Square in New York. We did not make any public resolutions, knowing that they are futile, but maybe to ourselves we secretly made some. I do have a generalized idea of which direction I want my life to take and I have learned a lot on this trip and can apply all of that. The learning process never stops and everyone is a teacher.

Yesterday, my ex and I went to the Museum of Modern Art. My ex grumbled a bit beforehand and was not really interested in going to a museum, cultural barbarian that he claims to be. It was a wonderful experience and we spent four hours there before we were satiated and could take in no more. I am sure you have to go there several days to really take in everything and do the collection justice. The one who ended up enjoying it the most was my ex who was enamored with the place.

Today is my last whole day here and I have to pack my suitcase and hope that everything fits because I bought that great big stuffed dog for Tyke that will take up some room. It will be a challenge that I am looking forward to.

My stomach seems to be recovering and this morning I had a bowl of cream of rice with low fat milk. Yesterday I had grilled cheese sandwiches with rye bread. I have been taking the allergy pills for two weeks now and the pro-biotics also. Maybe things are slowly getting back to normal.
