Seeing the glass totally full.

When I woke up this morning at 8 o'clock, I could not make a pot of coffee because I was completely out of it, so I tried to wake up with a pot of tea. Well, let me tell you something. That just does not work if you are used to a regular dose of caffeine. I tried my very best to be chirpy, but whatever I did, my mood stayed minor and I was an unhappy camper.

There was nothing else to do but call the Exfactor, who was planning on coming over, and ask him to bring a package of coffee. He said he would and that he would be here in half an hour, but I waited nearly an hour very impatiently for him to get here.

I nearly ripped the coffee out of his hands and made a pot as quick as I could and was completely revived after I had the first cup. It was like watching a Disney movie when the wicked witch dies and the forest comes back to life in full technicolor.

Ever since that moment, I have had the nicest morning despite the fact that I have not done a bloody thing yet. Outside it is cold and windy and we just had a hail storm. so there is no good reason to go out there and I can think of enough of them to stay inside. I feel that I have to apologize for my laziness, but I am just luxuriating in my good mood and I do want to enjoy the moment before I get down to the more serious business of living. That, unfortunately, needs to get done too.

I have decided not to go grocery shopping yet, but to eke out the food there is a little while longer and I think I can manage for another day and hope for more agreeable weather tomorrow. I am also penny pinching and not spending any money unless it can not be helped. This agrees with my present attitude very much and I should always be this frugal. I wish my attitude was a bit more steady and predictable.

I hardly have a stomachache and the little one I have is a result of the honey I had in my tea because I thought I was all out of sugar. Later, when the Exfactor was here, I discovered my secret stash of emergency sugar and that was a good thing because he can not abide a cup of coffee without sugar in it. I do wish I would think of these kinds of things when I need them. Honey always upsets my stomach.

I think I will get the show on the road now and see what sort of trouble I will manage to stay out of. Given half the chance, it will be all sorts.

I am not a coffee drinker but come from a long line of devoted coffee drinkers. I do make sure the pot is ready when they roll out of bed. It is in my best interest.

I've been in that desperate spot--thank goodness you were able to score some joe!
