About carnival.

Of course there is not formula for success except, perhaps, an unconditional acceptance of life and what it brings.
- Arthur Rubinstein

It is in the middle of the night, or you could call it very early in the morning, and I have to write myself into the proper mood to go back to bed and finish sleeping. If I wait long enough, I will be able to take my morning medication, and that will mean that I will next wake up in the greatest of moods, because that always seems to work well. I have got to plan these things carefully and with the greatest finest, and make sure that the time span until I take the next dose is not too long. It worked out well yesterday, and I did not at all go crazy, so I am sure that today's timing will be alright too.

Carnival is being celebrated now, but all I notice of it so far out here in the "burbs" are the oddly dressed people walking around now and then on their way to a party or a parade. The school children had their parade through the neighborhood Friday afternoon behind a car with a loudspeaker that emanated a blast of carnival songs. The kids were dressed in the wildest variety of costumes, most of which were partially covered by their jackets because it was cold. They were obviously having a good time, but I am not so sure about the moms and dads who were chaperoning them.

I do not know when the supermarket will be open next and am going to have to Google that. Officially things do not get back to normal until Wednesday, but I am sure that my supplies will not last that long. I will have to go shopping before that or Tyke will have nothing to eat. On Tuesday we are all supposed to eat herring on the Market Square, but I have forgotten what the reason is for that. I am not much in the mood for it anyway. I would rather have a big bag of Flemish Fries.

I am not in the least hungry right now and am happy with my glass of ice cold water. Sometimes I still wish it were a glass of ice cold milk, but we all know the disastrous results of that. I would be burping until tomorrow morning to say the least. I wish I was not such a lover of dairy products, but being a true Dutch person, I was literally raised on them and it is thought that that is why Dutch people are so tall. I am not supposed to eat anything now anyway because I take thyroid medication and am supposed to take that on an empty stomach and not eat for an hour afterwards. I do cheat sometimes.

Right, it is off to bed I go and I wish you all a good morning.

Thanks for reminding me to take my vitamins.

Carnival sounds like fun. What are they celebrating?
