Never a dull moment.

I broke the thermal glass pot to my coffeemaker yesterday while I was cleaning it with vinegar and saw myself having to head to the household goods store to buy a new one. It turned out to be my lucky day and I was able to buy a very nice Philips coffeemaker on sale for a reasonable amount of money and although it said it was a white one on the box, it turned out to be a nice black one when I got it out. It has been turning out very good cups of coffee ever since and ever so much better than the old coffeemaker which had really never worked all that well because it had been a cheapy. You do get what you pay for.

That reinforces my current belief in the fact that you do have to spend a little more money to get quality products that work well for you. It doesn't pay to buy the cheap products because in the long run you don't save any money. Cheap products often turn out to be an aggravation. And when it comes to food, they often don't taste well and are not enjoyable.

Now I am sitting here after going to bed early because I could not keep my eyes open no matter how entertaining the company and conversation were. I just had a shortage of sleep but I think I am all caught up now and can thoroughly enjoy these early morning hours on my own. I did make the mistake of buying some individual cups of icecream with a chocolate topping for us after dinner last night and I woke up in a sweat which I haven't done since I changed my diet so it goes to show you in how many ways milk products affect my body. But it was well worth it.

I saw my therapist yesterday morning, although I was somewhat reluctant to, but the conversation went fine and we have decided to see each other the minimum of once every three months which is how often I see my psychiatrist.  She said she could not belief the change that had come over me and that she was very impressed and that I should be proud of myself. Now, pride is not something I really feel. I do feel very lucky as though I have escaped from a far worse fate. The fact is that I am happy and contend with my life and realize that it had a good ending so far.

The Exfactor arranged for my friend Judy to get a ride in the sidecar of a motorcycle today because in the course of a conversation they had, it turned out that this is something she had always wanted to do. He has a friend with a motorcycle with sidecar and they are coming over this afternoon to make Judy's wish come true. It will make for an interesting adventure that she will be able to talk about when she gets home again.

We are going to Amsterdam this weekend to visit the Rijksmuseum which has recently re-opened its doors after a long renovation. It will be wonderful to see all the art that is exposed there and to see the renovated building itself because it was brought back to its original state.

It's a great thing to have such a good loyal friend for such a large part of your life and I realize how prcious that is.

I can remember visiting that museum when my daughter & I went to Amsterdam some years ago. The museum was filled with treasures.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

You have changed (for the better) beyond belief!
Enjoy your weekend.

I used to live near the Rijksmuseum and would cycle past it almost every day. Have a wonderful trip - and yes, do report back!

A good cup of coffee goes a long way toward making the day start right. I have a Cuisinart Grind and Brew. It makes a fantastic cup of coffee.
