Oh, what the heck....

I am sitting here with my umpteenth mug of coffee and since it is Sunday, and there is no must do anything on the program, I may as well sit here and start writing a post. It is an utterly free to do anything day and to take it as easy as I want and not feel the least bit guilty about it. That's why I love and adore Sundays. It is the officialness of being excused to do anything meaningful.

I have gotten dressed and walked the dog, that was somewhat meaningful, I suppose. It was purposeful anyway.

I am listening to last.fm. I have made myself quite nice play list there and since it plays it at random, I never know what's coming up next and I'm always taken by surprise. It's a music site I can really recommend. It's even better than Deezer and you know how much I liked it. Give both of them a try and see which one you like best.

Last night, I thought I was awake in the middle of the night and was so foolish as to get up and turn the computer on. Pretty soon my head was hitting the keyboard, so I would say that was a major misjudgment on my part. I walked to the sofa and slept the rest of the night there until the Überhund woke me up, because he apparently thought I had slept long enough. He wanted to eat, but I had to come awake first with some coffee and a cigarette.

He is very patient and lays down by my feet until I'm activated. The cats sit in the kitchen and wait equally patient for the things that will come. They all know the routine and it all depends on my ability to function. I've got the cats trained real well now to stay off the kitchen counter while I fill their dishes, so that is a major improvement. They try it once and that is it. Nouri doesn't try at all, but just bleats like a little lamb down on the ground. She's like a little white fluffy stuffed toy that has batteries in it that make her move up and down the kitchen and bleat heartbreakingly. She's programmed to make me feel sorry for her.

I watered the plants yesterday and you should see how they perk up. The plants with the succulent leaves practically stand there and cheer with their stems in the air. Luckily, the cats have not bothered them, there has been no random plant chewing as has happened in the past. Maybe they know which plants are safe to chew and which are not.

I would like to buy more plants, but I am really out of room to place them, although I suppose I could put one on the coffee table. If I move some things around there, I might have some space for one there. What an excellent idea! I have a spare 5 Euros to buy another plant. I can't believe how inexpensive they are. I always feel like they are giving them away. You can have a good plant for 2.95.

Today is a beautiful day. The sun is shining and the sky is blue, very fitting for the first day of March. It is probably giving us a false sense of security for the rest of the month, because March is infamous for its unpredictable weather. It does feel like springtime outside today and makes you hopeful for more to come, but my sister and I have decided to stubbornly wear our boots as long as possible since we both prefer them to shoes. I will be wearing leggings and boots with my skirts and dresses for a long time.

Well, in spite of it being Sunday, I must get the show on the road a little bit. Do a few small things, such as clean up the kitchen and dust the desk. It will be good for me. Keep me disciplined a little bit, oh, and I must not forget to file my paperwork. That's a good Sunday job.

Have a good day and I hope you have nice weather also.

Ciao...

I wear leggings UNDER my trousers in the very cold weather. It is great for playground duty.

I love the way you said Nouri sounds like a little lamb bleating! She is better off than most little lambs, I would say. Hopefully she will live longer!!

Lovely day today. trouble is ....... we have a saying that March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb but sometimes the opposite happens.

Nice relaxing, thought provoking (in a good way) day, Irene. Oh, do get another plant for the coffee table - something with bright flowers to welcome Spring, perhaps?

Lovely ramble of a post. Has a Sunday feel to it. Relish your day.

I came over from Maggie May's place, intrigued by the name of your blog. What a treat.

You're right, it could give us a false sense of security for the rest of the month but it was a nice way to start March all the same.CJ xx

I'm staying at my parents' house a bit further north, in the Midlands, at the moment and although we had some sun today, there is a very cold wind.

Cats love the kitchen counters, don't they? High up and close to any food you may be preparing. They are very persistent!
