In the early evening.

I just took poor Jesker to the vet. He was doing so poorly, I just couldn't stand it any more. Luckily, the vet lives close by, so we very slowly walked over there. Jesker almost didn't make it. It's a good thing I went, because it turned out that he was running a high fever and that he has a stomach infection. The vet gave him two shots of antibiotics and some pills to take home too. The vet says because Jesker's getting so old that he's susceptible to these kinds of things. His immune system is weakened. According to the vet's records, Jesker is going to be 14 in May, so I don't know who's got it right now. I'm going to have to look it up. I thought he was going to be 13. Somebody had the wrong date.

My hairdresser appointment this morning went well. I was the first and only customer there and that's just the way I like it. I have to do that more often, go early in the morning like that. It gets the day started just right. The girl cut my hair well too. I said for her to just cut it short with a fringe and that's exactly what she did. It is perfect now. I have "no bother hair" again, thank goodness. Why do I always forget to go to the hairdresser on time? I should know better by now, instead of wondering why I can't do a thing with my hair.

My doctor's appointment was inconclusive so far. He listened carefully to me and wrote down what he heard in the computer and examined me and then ordered a bunch of blood tests. So I have to go back there tomorrow morning at nine and donate some blood. He's looking at several different things which I didn't all catch, but some of them are my hemoglobin and my liver function and my thyroid. Whoopee! I will know the results in about a week.

Now I have to go and eat and watch the news, because I've been up forever and a day and I'm hungry and tired and I want to go to bed as soon as I can.

Ciao,
Nora

Poor Jesker. I suppose 14 is a very good age for a dog.Sorry to hear he has a weakened immune system (like me!) Hope he gets better very soon though.

You are also having health problems. Hope they find the cause and that it isn't too bad.
I am reading a very good book! Bit of a thriller!
Sleep tight! Maggie X

Oh sweet old Jesker! Hope he'll perk up soon.

Hope you get your own results soon. I might be back from my trip before you get them. If not, send me an email, I might not be able to catch up with all your posts!

Put a reminder in your lovely new agenda/diary to make another hairdresser appointment in 6 weeks or so - however long the interval usually is for you.

Hello Nora sorry to hear about Jesker. Hope he perks up soon. Good luck with your results also and with the quitting the cigarettes. I know exactly what you mean about your hair, I have mine very short and the minute it needs to be "styled" I am on the phone to the hairdresser wanting an immediate appointment. I should be more organized. Cheers!

Poor Jesker, I am sorry to hear that he is not well but glad to know he's on the mend.

Hoping your results enable them to straighten things out for you too.

Hi Nora. Sorry to hear about Jesker. Hope he feels better soon. I know what it is like to look after ailing pets. They seem so vulnerable.

At least you're happy with your hair, as the Bear would say!

Sounds like the doctors app wasn't as frightening as expected. He obviously doesn't think it's something life threatening as otherwise I'm sure you'd have been sent for immediate testing and scans. Although facing a chronic health condition (if it should be such) is still frightening and has implications.

I hope it is just your body's response to an infection or minor thing like that. I have had a swollen gland on the left side of my neck for forever (years and years) and it is no illness at all.

Hope you sleep well, and Jesker too.

Poor old Jesker! I hope he's soon back to his normal self. I hope your results will end up being normal (whatever that is, right?) too. It's a pain waiting for test results, though. How's the non-smoking going?

Hope your poor Jesker will soon feel better!
Irene, I'm much worse than you about going to the hair salon -I always think...maybe next month, so I mostly end up going every 6 months!

Oh my friend. Thinking of Jesker and of you. You know that.

Is the whole world falling apart with some illness or another?

both of you get well soon, that's an order!!

Great news on the hair, it had me looking at mine, I'm not colouring it anymore and the grey is seeping on to my head and looking very shabby.
