Up before dawn...

I went to sleep early last night and as a result I'm up early too. I slept on the sofa and fell asleep with the TV on. When I woke up, I found a broken glass and shards of glass on the floor and knew that Tyke had knocked it off the table. I don't know if he ingested any pieces of glass with the milk that was in it, but if he starts vomiting, I will know soon enough. I am worried about him now, but he has done this once before and it all turned out well. I was in contact with the vet then. Things you worry about when you have a young dog. It's not even funny, is it?

Well, lets not let that set the tone for the rest of this bit of writing. There are happier ways to start off the day and better ways to start a post. I just can't think of them right now. I'm sure I'll come up with something shortly. Oh, that does remind me that I have not weighed myself in some time. I do have to remember to do that some morning before I have had my coffee, while I'm still in my pajamas. You get so used to your body looking a certain way, that you don't pay too much attention to it on a regular basis, only in short obsessive intervals, and then you stop weighing yourself too. At that time it's just not the most important thing on your mind.

I sure don't miss the extra Welbutrin now that I only take one pill. I still get sad when I take that one, but I find going to sleep really helps then. But I don't miss the second one at all. Of course, it hasn't been that long since I have taken it, so anything can happen still. I shouldn't jubilate too soon. I may be talking differently by tomorrow. Today my psychiatrist is going to call me, though, and I'm curious as to what he will have to say. Maybe he'll say that I can stop the Welbutrin altogether, but that may be a little bit too much to hope for. I'll know at 2 o'clock this afternoon.

I'm going to lie down for a while now after I take my medicines and finish this later when I'm a bit more lievely.

--------------------

In the meantime it is a lot later in the day. Well, it is afternoon and I've just had a cup of yogurt and I'm awfully full now. I think I may have overdone it. I feel it slowly seeping through the opening in the gastric band and little by little I'm becoming more comfortable. I just ate the yogurt to quickly. That's what you get when you are greedy.

The Exfactor was here and offered to do the groceries, because he noticed that I was almost out of things. I thought that was very kind of him, because I was about to ask him to do them for me. My sister is in Italy, so we could not make our regular grocery run. I still get anxious when I think I have to do the groceries on my bike and I'll have to starting August when my sister moves to a different neighborhood. The Exfactor said that he'll always do them for me, though.

My psychiatrist just called and said that until Monday we're going to leave things the way they are now, since I'm doing well, and Monday morning he's going to call again and decide what changes we are going to make. He's one for the careful and patient approach. Ha, the patient approach! Right...

I have to go lie down again now. I get tripped up by sleep. I need to do it at all hours of the day. My duvet is in the washing machine. I had to do quite a bit of shoving to get it in.

Have a good day.

Ciao,

Nora

High definition...

I went for a long walk with Tyke this morning, but that is the total of my accomplishments so far. When we came back, I laid down on the sofa and took a long nap. Doubtlessly to finish the sleep that I didn't get when I got up too early this morning. When you get up at 4 am, you're not really done sleeping yet, I must remember that. It shouldn't come as a surprise when you need to go back to sleep after you've taken your dog for a long walk and you suddenly feel awfully wiped out. Emotionally as well as physically.

I'm in the process now of rejoining the living with a cup of coffee and a cigarette. I think it is going to take more then one cup of coffee, though. I need to clear my mind of the cobwebs of sleep. I did get dressed with care this morning. I am wearing my jeans, like I said I would, and I'm wearing a black long sleeved tunic over it. It has a deep V-neck, so under it I'm wearing an apple green tank top. I'm also wearing a green necklace and my black ankle boots. So well put together am I. If I just had the body to go with it, it would be perfect. As it is, I'm bulging. Well, never mind. I do have other things I can concern myself with and I know the weight will come off once I am off my medications.

I have an hour to kill until I have to leave for my appointment with my SPN. If I dawdle over this post that should take up an hour. I also have to make new cigarettes, so that will take some time too. Of course, I can't finish this post, because I will have to let you know what my SPN said about me wanting to quit my medications. And I still have to walk the dog. So I better do all those things first. I don't like waiting for something to happen. I'm too impatient for that. I bid you adieu, until we meet again...

--------------------

Well, I'm completely wiped out from walking to my SPN's office and back and it felt like my toes were going to drop off because of the boots I was wearing. The next time I'm not going to be vain and wear my hiking boots and not fashionable boots with pointy toes.

My appointment went fine and was not in the least bit negative. My SPN was not at all against the idea of my quitting my medication. She just wanted to know my motivation for doing so and I told her. But everything was fine and we're having an appointment about it with my psychiatrist on the 10th and I don't expect any problems.

I need to eat now and go lie down for a bit. I am exhausted. I guess I'm not quite over being sick yet. I don't have my stamina back anyway.

Nora

Have one yourself.

Yippee, I'm ready for another bright day at the 'bring your own pet and have fun household.' Yes, you too can have fun with your favorite animal in this charming apartment with its practical linoleum floors. Does your pet shed? Don't worry, it will all get swept up the next time there is motivation for it. Does your cat barf up hairballs? No need to worry, there are lots of paper towels. Nobody here gets nauseous from looking at it and wiping it up. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this really is the best place to hang out with your best pet. The facilities are the greatest and so is the service.

Well, as they say here, all madness on a stick, what a way to start the day. The dog has been bribed with treats to sit pretty and have his ointments put in his eyes. I know he will do it without the treats, but I want to make the occasion as pleasurable as possible for him. That means associating it with something very nice. He's like a little child that gets rewarded with something special for good behavior.

Toby is having his absolute crazy 30 minutes. That means he is running around the living room making everything look like a possible prey and attacking it and hitting it across the floor where it goes shooting off into all directions. This worries the dog endlessly and he stands there looking and sounding very alarmed.

For some reason, he always wants the cats to behave and becomes very upset when they do something that he thinks they ought not to. He is usually right too, like when Gandhi pulls herself along on her back with her nails stuck in the side of the sofa. He goes over and shoves her with his nose, until she hits him with a paw and then he comes running to me, very upset, complaining loudly.

Yes, life is an endless variety of humor when you live with animals. My life would not be half as much fun without them. I think most of my liveliness is inspired by the animals. I know I will never live without one.

My older sister just called me and she is getting ready to sell everything she owns. The business and the house that goes with it. She has been struck by the economic crisis. It is possible that a project developer is going to buy the property, as it is almost smack in the middle of downtown. She's had a hell of a hard time this past year and has had a tough time keeping things going. Now she is at the end of her rope. There is no more slack. All the worry has been bad for her health. She has high blood pressure, so you can imagine what the stress does to that. She's a tough broad, but I have hated to see what this does to her.

I must go grocery shopping today. On Saturday of all days. That's because I always postpone whatever I'm supposed to do. Now the store will be crowded with people who suffer from the same problem as I do. It doesn't make me happy at all to have to go and do that, because I have to buy some bulky items and I will doubtlessly be burdened down with my big shopping bag again. Being tough and stubborn is the only way to go about it, or else I wouldn't go at all and forsake all groceries. I must buy myself a treat to make it more appealing. It will have to be a cheap treat, because I am nearing the end of the fiscal month.

The good part is that I will be buying the dog some delicious food that's good for overweight dogs and he gets to have some as soon as I get home because I was all out of dog food this morning. I saw some the other day that I can buy and it looked very appetizing. It almost looked like people food. God only knows what they put in it, I don't want to know. Maybe eyeballs and testicles.

I must end this epistle and walk the dog who has been waiting patiently. I must not lay down on the job, that's a whole other career choice.

Have a terrific day, enjoy your Saturday the best way you know how.
