Hallelujah!

The snow is gone. It rained during the night and it made all the snow disappear. I am so glad, because I had to ride my bike in it and it was mighty tricky. We can now see the streets and the sidewalks and the field again and it all looks so lovely and normal. The snow was fun for the first day, but after that the novelty wore off and it became a bother. The Uberhund liked it well enough and pranced around in it, but I can't say the same for myself. As to the temperarures. Well, now that it is a few degrees above freezing, it pracrically feels tropical outside. Cold? What cold?

I know one thing for sure. I don't like the freezing cold and it makes me think of sad things like homeless people and poverty and frozen limbs and people trying to stay warm in poor countries. Like they are right now in the Ukraine now that the Russians have cut off their gas supply. Cold is suffering in my book.

I was getting groceries in the freezing cold on my bike and while unloading them from my bike bags into my big shopping bag I thought how awful it must be to perform every task in the extreme cold like maybe some place like Siberia and I consider myself very lucky to live here in this temperate climate.

There is still no good news on the internet provider front. Maybe I will get the letter today, but I'm not holding my breath. I am learning to be long suffering and patient. It's an unbecoming role for me.

Now I'm going home to take a nap, because I feel one coming up. A nice little sleep on the sofa with the Uberhund by my side. My sister has very tempting chocolates and I must remove myself from them quickly. They're making my mouth water.

Have a great day.

Ciao...

Cold here too - later in the week might be 4 degrees F.

That is coooold.

Some people like making snowman. I like sand castles and sundresses.

It is milder in England this week.
I wouldn't like to be out in freezing conditions for too long, though my job makes me often have to do it for 2 hours at a time. However, I find it just as awful to be somewhere too hot, as well. In the summer two hours of blazing heat can be even more uncomfortable.

Thank Goodness we don't have to live rough!

Hope you get your internet fixed soon, my friend. X

I wish the snow would leave here, Irene. I'm bundled up with a virus and the snow keeps coming down.
Nice you got back your streets!

I often think about the homeless, too. If I wake up in the middle of the night, with a cold nose, how on earth do they manage, with no shelter?

It has gone warmer, here, too, but the last 2 days have been dull and rainy. The weather is rarely ideal, is it? I am very glad that it is no longer icy, though and that I don't have to wear quite as many layers, when I go out.

Fingers still crossed for your internet connection.

I'm glad the snow has gone. Please don't send it my way, will you?

Good luck with getting that letter, Irene. I'll keep my fingers crossed. x

it has warmed up a bit here and it is sad to see how our plants have suffered the unusual cold. I think a lot of things have died off, even their roots were chilled.
Hope you get your internet connection soon.

I wish I could send you some heat, it was 82 here today, but the wind is from the desert so it's hot and dry. We all met to celebrate Victoria's and Helen's birthdays, at a Greek place on Harbor. We had to chase the shade as the sun moved over the building.

Didn't you have a friend who was from Argentina? There's a new Argentine restaurant in town, and when we were there V. thought she recognized your friend.

I hope you get your internet connection soon!

Here in the south we are expecting a high of 38 end of the week, but no snow. I do miss having some snow, but in South Carolina we get the cold all by itself.

Enjoy the warm weather!
