But pets are like kids, there will be times when they just get on each other's nerves!Maureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01797167028822330935noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9076712181904223864.post-36701107791846335132010-03-01T01:51:24.579+01:002010-03-01T01:51:24.579+01:00You would think that Tyke would get the point...bu...You would think that Tyke would get the point...but one of ours is like that. No matter how many times the cats tell him to wait til they get through eating, he still does not get it. I will hear a yelp and know the cats have slapped him.Gailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04219479223227928561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9076712181904223864.post-34169785725516783022010-02-28T23:33:28.267+01:002010-02-28T23:33:28.267+01:00Hi Nora. I think the winters were longer in those days. The climate is always changing. It's strange that people worry so very much about global warming when we are inexorably travelling towards the next ice age whatever we do.

In fact I just googled it and found:
The worst cold spells in Britain occurred between 1550 and 1750. The climate during this time was known as the Little Ice Age, when winters were so cold that the Thames froze over each year.

Sonnet 18
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate;
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date;
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

I hope you don't have to send Ghandi away. You'll all be mightily relieved when Tyke grows up!

Bearfriend xxFriend of the Bearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01338137165061207438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9076712181904223864.post-8029104255792126972010-02-28T21:26:42.610+01:002010-02-28T21:26:42.610+01:00Perhaps Ghandi has finally taught Tyke a lesson an...Perhaps Ghandi has finally taught Tyke a lesson and he will leave her alone after this. You've got a great entertainment programme going, I think you should start selling tickets! ;)

I don't know what to do about Tyke and Gandhi. I'm not sure giving Gandhi away will be the right signal for Tyke. You see, he'll think he's won and scared her off. But then, it's a very stressful situation for everyone at the moment, so it might be the best way. Sigh. I don't know. Ah, you'll make the right decision, I'm sure!

Oh, and I've always liked that toad, I'm glad she's back! :)Babaloohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11453252897926773386noreply@blogger.com
